about

John Orr Franklin celebrates the release of his second CD Transformation. The CD was written, recorded and produced by John, in his recording studio in Austin, TX. Transformation is a follow-up to his debut album Pathways. Both Transformation and Pathways were both originally released, and distributed on John’s record label, Blue Room Digital and are now also being distributed through Melodic Revolution Records out of Orlando, Florida.

Transformation, offers an impressive roster of hand-selected talent, each adding their individual flair to the overall sound of the music. Rob Palladino and Brandon Aly (Austin) both performed on drums. Brandon also added percussion on several tracks, including “Disappear (Only One World)” where he replicated an entire Latin percussion section on his own. Palladino laid down grooves that kindle a spirited fusion of Levon Helm meets Stewart Copeland. Josh Batschelet (Austin) performed upright bass on the track “Summer,” while Kris Mathesen (Memphis) played fretless and electric bass throughout most of the album. Laurel Hostak (Philadelphia), added her voice to the title track on the CD giving it a truly angelic vibe. Gold and Platinum award winning mastering engineer Jerry Tubb, mastered the album at Terra Nova Studios in Austin, and his impressive skills added a new dimension of clarity to the project.

Track Name: For the World to See
I have the right to speak my mind
No words that cross or criticize
Free to hear what’s spoke behind
Your murmur veil alights the lies

Cause I know what I am and I will not fail
For I see what could be and I will succeed
It’s up to me to let it show
For the world to see

Upon my truth I’ll stand or fall
True intentions with time appear
I will not beg, no I will not crawl
Through admiration that’s insincere

Cause I know what I am and I will not fail
For I see what could be and I will succeed
It’s up to me to let it show
For the world to see

No way to hide behind destiny
You walk that line and you start to grow
Some things that were simply meant to be
Pick it up get on with the show

Cause I know what I am and I will not fail
For I see what could be and I will succeed
It’s up to me to let it show
For the world to see
Track Name: Dance Till Three
I saw your face
You spoke to my embrace
Two words that made my day
Two steps carried us away into a dream

We lit the fire
Keeps burning so much higher
Two hearts ignite the light
Two stars that burn so bright across the sky

And I propose
We dance till three
Let go the weight of the world
And I suppose
We'll always be
Here hand in hand dancing free

Song fills the air
Lost feelings we now share
Two souls arrive in flight
Two lives embraced ignite a symphony

And I propose
We dance till three
Let go the weight of the world
And I suppose
We'll always be
Here hand in hand dancing free
Track Name: Kiss the Sky
Laid out on the beach
Waves crash at my feet
Cold one in my hand
Toes deep in the sand

This must be heaven
It must be heaven in my eyes

Sunlight on my face
All my cares erased
Dreaming of a girl
Married to the world

This must be heaven
It must be heaven in my eyes

A real life holiday
It’s never here to stay
And I, I wonder why
As waves wash over me
I finally start to see
As I, I kiss the sky

Sailing on the sea
Racing destiny
Floating on the blue
The world comes into view

This must be heaven
It must be heaven in my eyes

A real life holiday
It’s never here to stay
And I, I wonder why
As waves wash over me
I finally start to see
As I, I kiss the sky
Track Name: Disappear (Only One World)
Where are we going?
Will we know when we get there?
Well is it showing?
Would you think we even care?
And anyway of knowing?
Is there really time to spare?

There's only one world
Only one world
All that we love and hold so dear
Well will it disappear

Well are we sinking?
Could we turn this boat around?
What are we thinking?
Have we finally run a ground?
And can't we hear the meaning?
As a million voices sound?

There's only one world
Only one world
All that we love and hold so dear
Well could it disappear

Where are we going?
Well is it showing?
And anyway of knowing?
Is there really time to spare?

There's only one world
Only one world
All that we love and hold so dear
You better keep it near
But do not live in fear
May your worries disappear
Track Name: Transformation
May we all wake up and find transformation.
May we all arise and live as one.
When that day arrives we'll know.
We are all the one that we've been waiting for.

Know ye
Ye are Gods
Know Ye
Ye are Gods

May we all wake up and find transformation.
May we all arise and live as one.
When that day arrives we'll know.
We are all the one that we've been waiting for.

Know ye
Ye are Gods
Know Ye
Ye are Gods
Track Name: The Dove
The moon shines through evil shadows are cast
Upon me and you the light is fading fast
Life is too long yeah death is meant to please
The spirit in song

It's the light of light it's the love of love
The spirit in flight it's the song of the dove

My eyes are turning red as the smoke clears the sky
My life has bled moving on like a river run dry
My time it is past and mist it has come
My spirit is numb

Repeat Chorus
Embraceable Love
In showers above
Nothing left to speak of
The Song of the Dove

Repeat Chorus
Track Name: Summer
Sunshine - keep on shining
You light the way - there’s no denying

The best things in life are free
Though it might not be what you see
When we fight to keep control we lose
The way to ever choose

The heat is rising - it keeps on climbing
We gotta move on - don't wait for timing

There’s some things that you can not plan
Sometimes no way to understand
When we fight to keep a hold we lose
The way to ever

Looks like the summers come and gone
Another year to pick through right and wrong
It feels like it's gone on much too long
If you feel the way I do
You're ready for something new

Let go and you’re on your way
Looking forward to another day
When we struggle to force our way we lose
The way to ever

Looks like the summers come and gone
Another year to pick through right and wrong
It feels like it's gone on much too long
If you feel the way I do
You're ready for something new
Track Name: True 2 U
There's no other place
That I would rather be
There's no other face
That I would rather see

And here and now
I give you everything
No matter how
Each day I will remain
True to you

There’s no one but you
That makes me feel this way
It’s all that you do
That gets me through the day

And here and now
I give you everything
No matter how
Each day I will remain
True to you

There's no other place
That I would rather be
There's no other face
That I would rather see
Track Name: This Day
You carry away
Your thoughts for this day
Save them for a time
When you’re old and gray

Many years may pass you will find someday
Memories return to where we are this day in time

One of a kind
No more will we find
Each moment a rhyme
Upon a church bells chime

Many years may pass as you find your way
Memories remain of the love we shared this day

Solo

Many years may pass you will find someday
Memories return to where we are this day in time

You carry away
Your thoughts for this day
Save them for a time
When you’re old and gray

Many years may pass as you find your way
Memories remain of the love we shared this day
